Who would have thought that the 18-year-old girl, staying at the humble Courtyard Hotel in the Waterfront – would become one of the supermodels of the world?

We certainly did – after our editor, Alétha Carswell met the young, unknown Bar by chance in 2003, and booked her on the spot for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, in Mauritius in 2004. After a phenominal response, Bar joined the team the following year again in the Seychelles – and everyone knew, instinctively, a star was born …

And as we know the rest is history.

Bar went on to launch a successful career as a supermodel, television host, actress, and businesswoman and recently became the host of the X Factor Israel.
