From the streets of Kirovograd, Ukraine, to the covers of Australian Vogue, ELLE, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, and more, this week’s Instagram Crush has been on quite the journey.
Alina Baikova’s first job was as a waitress at a restaurant in her hometown, but it wasn’t long before she was approached to pursue a career in modelling. However, the natural beauty didn’t jump at the opportunity; she was wary of becoming another girl with a dream, only to be shipped off to be some wealthy man’s trophy. So, she bided her time, put her trust in a friend, and set her mind to the goal.
Her caution and patience paid off, and soon after initially being approached she moved to Paris to take on modelling full time. Since then she has worked with the likes of Carlina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, and many more. She’s also a philanthropist, and is an ambassador of the Heart Fund Charity, and recently launched her own business; an iPhone app called Alina’s Flowers.
