This week in Bikinis – MIKOH Swimwear
If you’re looking for a sexy and modern swimsuit for your next journey, look no further! This gorgeous new collection by MIKOH was shot aside the sparkling turquoise ocean in Bahia, Brazil. Made in Los Angeles, this collection includes a variety of trends from woven detailing, sporty racerback tops, strappy bottoms, cut out one pieces, and caged bikinis. They integrate prints and colours from around the world with modern fits and exquisite fabrics.
Co-founders, Oleema and Kalani Miller, grew up in Orange County with the ocean right in their backyard. It’s no surprise that they went from wearing bikinis every day to creating them themselves. With an overflow of creativity and an undying love of the sea in their blood they partnered up to form this ultra sexy and modern line.
Oleema, a former pro-surfer has been travelling the world for years, giving her a plethora of inspiration to lead the creative direction of MIKOH. Meanwhile, Kalani honed her skills in University, giving her the backing to take the reigns of the business side. Like Ying and Yang, they provide what the other lacks to achieve the perfect balance of creativity and brains. Both combine what they see and learn from their travels to bring to the drawing board.
The name MIKOH comes from their last name, Miller, as well as the first initial of Kalani, Oleema and their younger sister, Hana. In Japanese, Miko is a term that once meant “Female Prophecy” or “Female Shaman.” Wearing one of these is bound to make you feel sexier and more confident! Not only do these sisters stay true to who they are, but they’ve built their brands for the “woman who knows who she is- if not where she’s going next.”
