The Hottest Music Festival Under the Sun
Every year thousands of people journey to the desert of Southern California to enjoy the musical festival Coachella. This back-to-back weekend festival continuously sets the standards for music festivals across the world. Coachella always has a stellar musical lineup of the world’s best artists and bands. For instance, Outkast made their epic comeback on the Coachella stage and Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre had a mind-blowing performance where they brought Tupac back from the dead with an extremely realistic hologram.
But the music isn’t the only reason people travel across the world to attend this festival. Coachella creates a hip ambience that allures people to discover what this festival is all about. The Coachella festival starts off by inviting Southern California’s best restaurants and craft food vendors to come sell their food to the festivalgoer’s. It also has talented artists create art installations that are placed throughout the festival grounds. In past years, they’ve had an enormous snail and astronaut installation that travels around the festival. Coachella also has multiple shops where you can buy anything from festival merchandise to vintage clothing to records.
There is never a dull moment during the whole festival as Coachella provides many activities for people to attend on top of their musical performances, such as: a bad dancing competition, dodgeball, water balloon toss, snowball fight and a silent dance party at night. They offer yoga and pilates classes in the mornings and you can also get massages during those same hours. Coachella also offers a wide variety of amenities such as a beauty bar for festival campers to get their hair done free of charge.
Coachella is also known for hosting loads of Hollywood’s celebrities. Every year over a dozen celebrities attend the music festival. Weekend 1 of Coachella is notorious for celebrity attendance. It is very likely that you’ll pass someone like Paris Hilton in the crowd as you walk around the festival grounds. Most celebrities can be found in the luxurious VIP grounds, which only these pass holders have access to. VIP also allows you to get closer to the Coachella stages for all performances.
On top of all of this, Coachella is known as a fashion runway. People look to the Coachella Festival for fashion inspiration for their wardrobes for the upcoming spring and summer seasons. Nearly all attendees spend hours planning out what outfits they’ll be wearing in the Coachella valley. Keep in mind that the desert can be around 100°F (37.778°C) during the festival weekends. So loose fitting, bohemian inspired clothing is popular, but beachwear is also worn frequently at the festival. Girls tend to wear bustier bikinis usually paired with high-waisted shorts and sandals. Also, large sun hats are worn to block out the glaring sunshine. No Coachella outfit would be complete without a pair of sunglasses. Cat eye and oval sunglasses were extremely popular this past year at Coachella and these trends are continuing on into the summer months.
Needless to say, Coachella is an experience like no other. You can get lost in a world of music, art and fashion. This festival has people eager to travel to California to experience it first hand. Coachella is essentially heaven on earth, as you get to listen to amazing music with your friends under the beautiful desert sunshine. So pack up your bags and head for the desert next April because without a doubt, Coachella will be putting on a show that you won’t want to miss.
