Travelling on a Budget

For those of you who are constantly on the move and exploring new places, this one’s for you! We know traveling has a tendency to empty that wallet of yours, but don’t worry, we’ve got you.

Here as 5 tips for traveling on a budget.

1. Make your own food

Cooking your own food is such a great way to save money. By doing this you are able to avoid overpriced restaurant meals as well as keep what you put inside your body fresh and healthy.

2. Find out when museums and art galleries are free

Half of the time, museums or art galleries will have times when they are free. Even though you may have to face longer lines and have a shorter time period to explore around, it’s a bargain.

3. Opt for pre-drinking at the hostel or outside in a park instead of at a bar

Drinks at a bar can be extremely expensive and overpriced. Rather buy a cheap bottle of wine and picnic out in a park.

4. Use local transportation instead of taxis or Uber

If you can walk somewhere, do it! You experience so much more of a city when you explore it on foot. However, when walking is no longer an option, local transport is so much cheaper than taxis and Uber. Of course there will be times when you’re exhausted and just need the luxury of a taxi driver, but don’t take a taxi or Uber for everything if you’re trying to stick to a budget.

5. Pay for experiences, not things

We’re sure many people may disagree on this one, but it really depends on what you would like to leave your trips with; a great new pair of shoes or an incredible experience that’s almost impossible to retell. It all comes down to individual preference, but those nice pair of shoes you bought may not last as long as that once in a lifetime memory.

World Swimsuit DOES NOT own any of these images and they belong to their respective owners/ photographers.
