Travel – The Best Resorts in the Maldives: Part 2
Last week brought you part 1 in our “Best Hotels in the Maldives” travel segment. We’re bringing you part 2 today as we once again discover what dreamy places you should be staying at when you find yourself in the magical Maldives.
Six Senses Laamu
With the Maldives being normally considered a romantic destination, this resort tries to turn that perception on its head. There are a whole host of different water based activities to do from its Yin Yang surf break to paddle-boating, catamaran sailing and much more, you’ll hardly notice the lack of a swimming pool. With all the fanciness that exists in the Maldives it’s nice to know there is somewhere made purely for relaxing.
Taj Exotica
This is truly an exquisite resort that manages to use space in a clever and creative way. The jade trees and sea hibiscus planted need only scant supplies of water on a space which measure a mere 700 meters long. Due to its setting of being placed in a large pool, the water shimmers blue like nowhere else on the island and this excludes its two restaurants, bar and infinity pool.
Cocoa Island
Originally built with just a few huts, this stretch of land was soon purchased by a hotelier and transformed into this chic and elegant retreat up there with the best. The beauty is in its simplicity and a favourite for all the love birds out there with its villas shaped to look like local dhoni fishing boats.
Jumeirah Dhevanafushi
The area on which this resort encompasses is surely one of the smallest on the island but what it lacks in size it makes up for in the resort itself. Each villa features its own private pool a private butler and 3-meter-long beds! This retreat also features 16 overwater villas which are disconnected from the island itself ensuring privacy all the way through. We are certain that this is where you’ll find all the A-listers staying in the Maldives.
One & Only Reethi Rah
The One & Only brand is synonymous with the finest in hotels and resorts. This resort is no different as the Reethi Rah is steeped in glamour and size which embodies all that we’ve come to know about the brand. There are 129 villas with 12 man-made beaches and activities to cover every age bracket. The pool villas are the star attraction, with huge and modern rooms and views to match your island experience, the Reethi Rah certainly lives up to its name.
World Swimsuit DOES NOT own any of these images and they belong to their respective owners/photographers.
