WORLD SWIMSUIT BORNEO 2016 DIARY – DAY 10
Island time, it’s a thing. Although the exact cause is unknown, it’s believed that it has something to do with unpredictable weather and endless hours spent under the tropical sun. When on island time, as we are, schedules and routines are pretty much obsolete. This means that there is sometimes unexpected downtime, but that can as quickly turn into immediate shoot time. We dealt with a bit of that today.
Despite getting up early and gathering in the restaurant for some food before beginning the day, we had to wait for clouds to pass and ended up lingering around the breakfast table for quite some time. When the light was good though, the team sprang into action and headed to our location for the day, Gaya Island Resort’s outside barbeque area.
Despite the relatively small location, Jacques Weyers managed to find and create a variety of interesting sets to shoot Tanya Mityushina.
The unpredictable nature of island time can often cause stress, but thankfully the team’s on-site masseuse, Mr Flare, was available to work out some of tension that had built up in members’ backs.
The video crew also snuck in some time with World Swimsuit newbie, Kara Del Toro. The Texan firecracker was great to work with and will have her first full day of shooting tomorrow!
