WORLD SWIMSUIT BORNEO 2016 DIARY – DAY 9
Although we didn’t know it at the time, yesterday’s perfect weather came at a price: an almost full day of rain today. It was to be Jacques Weyers first day of shooting with the World Swimsuit team, but as dawn broke over a sky of grey we put a pause on plans and waited for the clouds to pass. Only they didn’t pass, they grew heavier and darker, until they broke open with monsoon rains that carried on throughout the day.
We waited out the unfortunate weather in the restaurant, the library, and our rooms, and finally cancelled all plans just after lunch as the rain showed no signs of stopping. New plans to go visit the main island, Kota Kinabalu, were being discussed and just as we had it all sorted it out the weather turned on us again – the sun came out! Travel plans were thrown out the window and the crew quickly assembled to shoot Tanya Mityushina.
Even with only a few hours of good light left, Jacques had a quick start and made the best use of time and light.
Elsewhere on the island P.M.C. snuck off to film Xenia’s part for our music video – it’s heating up quickly folks!
Tomorrow we’ll be back at today’s location to get some more shots with Tanya.
