Why did you launch an online bikini shop?

World Swimsuit has become synonymous with ‘all things swimsuit’ and it was a natural progression for the brand to venture onto an online shopping platform, where our audience has an opportunity to buy the swimsuits, and ultimately beach-to-bar wear, featured in our magazines

Why did you choose to launch the store with a range from Khongboon?

We love the fresh designs and prints of Khongboon and whenever one of our models wear it on a World Swimsuit shoot – they immediately want to buy the reversible bikini, or full piece – due to its great fit, and it being a versatile 2-in-1 swimsuit.

You are also going to be launching a range designed by model Genevieve Morton at end of the year. Tell us about this…

Swimsuit superstar Genevieve Morton has been a WS favourite since we shot her for the first time in 2008, and she has subsequently appeared in 10 of our issues. It was therefore not surprising when US Sports Illustrated chose her to featured in their annual Swimsuit issue – for six consecutive years – and when she was chosen in 2014 as one of the top 50 SI Swimsuit models, of all time! She’s an icon and nobody rocks a bikini like her. Genevieve is also so talented in other ways and wanted to express her love for fashion by designing a range for us.

What are the biggest bikini trends right now?

There is so much going on; it’s an exciting time to be in the swimsuit design and retail space. We’re seeing lots of colour, amazing prints (from floral to animal prints). But there is lots of innovation too, such as Khongboon’s reversible prints. Ultimately people want lots of choice and to have fun with their swimwear!
