Gavin Kleinschmidt into the blue
Sought-after South African photographer Gavin Kleinschmidt decided to hit the idyllic West Coast National Park near Langebaan with two stunning models to capture summer at it’s hottest. Gavin shot with World Swimsuit Model Derryn Lester and local South African beauty Lynn Schooling. We asked Gavin a couple of questions about the shoot.
Q: You shot at Church Haven right?
A: Yes – definitely one of my favourite locations. It’s warm, beautiful turquoise waters…
Q: What were the conditions like on the day?
A: Actually not great – the wind was strong and blowing in the opposite direction to the sun.
Q: Can you tell us anything about the girls? What is it like to work with them?
A: Well I’ve shot with both of them a few times before and it’s always a pleasure. They are very professional and easy-going.
Q: Whats been your favourite job so far?
A: Shooting Trevor Noah for the cover of Rolling Stone was a blast, so probably that!
Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: Roughly seven years now.
Q: What would be the ultimate job to shoot?
A: Without trying to sound predictable, definitely one of your World Swimsuit trips.
