Xenia Deli – Then and Now

Over the past 18 years the World Swimsuit team has captured some of the World’s most beautiful women. In this weekly feature “Then and Now” we will travel back in time and pull out gorgeous archive footage of world famous swimsuit models and check in with them to see what they are getting up to these days.

Last week we had a look at the gorgeous
Lonneke Engel to see what she was doing these days, and this week we visit Moldovan super star Xenia Deli.

This petite brunette beauty was born on 27 October 1989 in Basarabeasca, Tighina, Moldova, where she grew up and started to pursue a career in modelling. She attended a ‘modeling school’ and was fist photographed by a photographer named Alexander Ustinov. Soon after that she was invited to cast of a lingerie brand ”
Ravetti” in Paris. After that she landed small jobs including a advertisement for German brand OWA by Bernd Michael Ostwald.

Xenia Deli was then discovered by one of our favourite swimsuit photographers, Gavin O’Neill, Gavin has shot for Vogue, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan and GQ to name but a few.

Xenia Deli won the Beach Bunny 2011 Model Search and her career surged from that point, shooting covers for Elle Romania and FHM Spain and gracing the covers of Harpers Bazaar, GQ UK and Max Italy. She has worked with big brands like
Bare Necessities , Beach Bunny , Body Central , Fredericks of Hollywood , KOM , Reef and Uberliss. Xenia famously also shot the coveted Victoria’s Secret Pink campaign and recently landed Guess Marcianno alongside her fellow World Swimsuit model Solveig Mork Hansen.

The World Swimsuit Team shot Xenia in 2012 on location at the Surin Phuket in Thailand, she was photographed by Olivier Desarte and her wonderful energy and sense of humour very much endeared her to the team. Since that first shoot Xenia has returned to Swimsuit and shot with Olivier again for the 2013 edition in Borneo, Malaysia and also joined the team in the Seychelles in 2014 to shoot with Gavin Bond.
